Flight 710 will be performed as part of the Gamma-UT conference.
GAMMA-UT, the Graduate Association of Music and Musicians at UT, announces its eleventh annual conference, "Music of the Americas," to be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at The University of Texas at Austin. Graduate students from a variety of disciplines, including music theory, composition, musicology, and ethnomusicology, will meet to share their research. Composers will present their works at a concert on Saturday night.
This year's conference has "Music of the Americas" as its theme and will include a keynote address on American swing music delivered by David Brackett, Chair of the Department of Theory at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University.
